On many browsers zoom is triggered when an input field (input or textarea) is focused. Some places which are affected:
This behavior depends on device screen size, resolution and browser, but can be observed e.g. on iPod/iPhone with mobile Safari.
Viewport zooming should be disabled when inputs are focused.

Zoom on focus in search bar
I can confirm that a) this happens, and b) it's annoying (see attachment). Sometimes the zoom persists and makes all subsequent page text a little too big, and then I have to manually pinch it back to the right size.
