After deployment of MediaWiki 1.22wmf7 some the interface of the Ilokano wiki is not working properly, if I switch to en language the interface seems to work better but there are pages like the template http://ilo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantilia:Dokumentasion that don't seem right in en but looks good in Ilokano, section edit links shows in en but not in Ilokano. Thanks for looking into this.

Yes it did. On your linked page [1], the section edit links showed like [], now they show like [urnosen]
For some reason, the wiki has many "customised" messages that are set to "", with the save button being the same [2]. There are loads of these [3]
Any of the messages with no text on the modified version NEED to be deleted

This is caused by a behavior change of empty messages (they no longer revert to default). That was a long-standing bug whose number escapes me right now.
I see, originally the interface messages were translated locally by previous administrators instead of via translatewiki. I had to blanked those messages so the current translations via translatewiki shows up locally (it worked until today's ugrade)... but not knowing it's better to delete them instead.
Just to make sure I don't screw up, do I have to delete all those blanked messages?
Also the difference in the direction of the links for the http://ilo.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantilia:Dokumentasion en and ilo languages is it related to this?

I've now deleted all [1] (201) blanked messages on ilo wiki. Plus a couple where the modified version was hte same as a default.
