Could you please use the transliterate telugu name for the variable
$wgSitename.
In Telugu it should be "వికీసోర్స్" instead of "Wikisource". Telugu Wiki projects
have the convention of using transliterated names for wikiprojects.

Hi Rahmanuddin. For any configuration change, we require a local consensus. Could you discuss the matter on the Village pump page of your wiki (like http://XXX.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:VP or any other appropriate place) to confirm that this change is wanted by the community, and paste the link to the discussion here?
For more information about how to request these kinds of changes, please see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes and feel free to forward that link to others who may want similar changes made in the future. Thanks!
Rahmanuddin Shaik, have you opened a local discussion/notification? It doesn't need a big vote, the transliterated name is already used everywhere including the logo (for which we recently got local consensus).
With 5 votes in support and no negative votes, as of 22:30 IST 6 July 2013, I believe the process to change the SITENAME to native language can be started.
Change 72318 had a related patch set uploaded by Odder:
(bug 50357) Set $wgSitename for te.wikisource
So I submitted a patch, but I'd like a Telugu person to have a look at whether the sitename I copied and pasted is correct: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/72318/1/wmf-config/InitialiseSettings.php
Thanks in advance :-)
It should be "వికీసోర్స్" and not "వికీసోర్స" as it is seen now.
Please change the same.
Thanks, I copied your change and uploaded https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/72318/2/wmf-config/InitialiseSettings.php — how does this look like?
The Firefox and Nano combo works good to copy/paste UTF-8 characters in the configuration file. Some text editors, including vi and emacs do sometimes some encoding stuff (e.g. if you copy/paste a iso-8859-1 é in an UTF-8 document, it will convert it to an UTF-8 one), but Nano pastes character as is in the buffer.
