Description

It suggests no images for article "29er (велосипед)", but it will if you search by Commonscat template parameter or english interwiki

I don't think this would require T68108. It seems possible to implement today (although maybe inefficient…)

Given a page e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fighting_Temeraire, look up its Wikidata entry e.g. https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q257580
Given the Wikidata entry, look up the Commons gallery/category using the 'commons' sitelink, or the category using the "Commons category" (P373) property
Given the Commons category, show search results from it (maybe using incategory: search)

@matmarex thanks for finding this, I did look before filing but this task wasn't tagged with VisualEditor-Media, is that the right tag?

It probably should be tagged with it. Sorry, VE tasks are often not consistently tagged (other than with the VisualEditor tag).
