Description: I run Win XP SP2. In Firefox 1.5 (IBM version) the pictures were
visible. In IE, looking at the portal page the two pictures (van and george) are NOT
visible. However they are clickable, and clicking on places where they should be
takes you to the image page where they are visible. Refreshes or purges have no
effect. I use popups and if I just hold my cursor over the place where the images
should be popups work, that is I get a popup with the image info in it just as if
they were visible. I went to Portal:Northern Ireland/Selected article, which is where
the Van pic and text come from, and the pic displays there fine. Ditto for
Portal:Northern Ireland/Selected biography which is where the George pic comes from,
that pic displays THERE fine too. Additionally, right-clicking on the imagesreveals
that "Show image" is greyed out.

Steps to reproduce: Access the Portal:Northern Ireland page in wikpedia using
Internet Explorer 6

Expected result: All images should display.

Actual result: Three images do not display - areas where images should be are plain
white (the background colour).

Additional information: I have asked two other editors to investigate this, and both
have reported the same problem. Our discussion on this can be found at the URL I
pasted in at the top of this description.

Confirmed in IE 6.0 on Windows 98 (logged-out/cached, and logged in); looks ok in IE 7
beta 2 on Windows XPSP2.

I can save the images from IE and load them back up from disk (in IE) and they display
ok. Not sure why they're not displaying inline; usually that kind of thing is due to
bogus ad-stripping proxies but a) I don't have one :) and b) they don't have the usually
suspisious URL (eg "/a/ad/").

Attaching it to bug "Internet Explorer (IE) issues on Windows (tracking)".

Has this been tested with a more recent version of MediaWiki?
