when saving, there is possibility to check the result visually. allow to edit it.

This is an interesting idea, but I think bug 50687 (with a button to switch to the wikitext editor) is probably more discoverable and more useful for some situations.
agreed, james, that would be desireable. but is for sure a very different feature not at all helping out when the diff reveals visual editor did something unexpected.

It does actually help: you can close the save dialog and switch to source mode, but this is not very discoverable.
Maybe we should consider adding a button to the diff preview that sends you straight to source mode?
