Campaigns: Boolean type parameters and target field
Open, MediumPublicFeature

Description

The ability to set a parameter (field) to be a boolean in an upload campaign would be desired.

For Wiki Loves Monuments this would be useful for many of the sub-competitions such as the Art nouveau category in 2011, GLAM category in 2012, and WWII(?) in 2013.

For Wiki Loves Public Art it would be useful in order to pass information which adds a FoP template if required.

Ideally this is combined with the ability to set a target field (in the information template) to which the wikitext is added. Currently all fields are added to the description field which would be inappropriate for FoP templates or sub-competition templates/categories.

So in short adding "type" and "target" as fields parameters and having these default to string and description.

While checkboxes are not currently available, we have a 'select' type, which you could use (just give it two options, "Yes" and "No" or something). It has existed for a long time, but I only just documented it (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:UploadWizard/Campaigns#fields).

Thanks. That should be usable in my case.

I spotted that Campaign:wlm-de-by managed to construct a checkbox. But it is in the upload step (i.e. not during metadata entry) so I'm less sure it is something we could use.

That is something WMDE people implemented specifically for Wiki Loves
Monuments, see T105283.
