logged in user get not-logged-in msg

Using a proxy to throttle my connection to 56K. This seems to be true in Chrome only and not Firefox:

Log in; navigate to any page; click edit/beta

Chrome shows 'not logged in' warning.

I was able to repro this with Chrome v30 on Mac OS 10.8.5.

See attached screen shot, where you can clearly see that I was logged in (at http://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/) when the popupWidget told me that I wasn't logged in.

Not able to reproduce, report based on code that's changed significantly in 18 months; was probably a race condition.
