Hallo!

It seems to my that behaviour has changed regarding pages from some namespaces.

Please log in at wikt:special:Login and add
wikt:MediaWiki:AllmessagesnotsupportedDB (with upper case "A") to your
watchlist.

Now click on
http://en.wiktionary.org/w/index.php?title=MediaWiki:allmessagesnotsupportedDB&action=purge
where a lower case "a" is used.

You will see the same text but a *red* message tab and also "watch".

*more general request*
Personaly I thing that it does not make sense to differentiate between pages
with upper and lower case letters in the following namespaces:

Special see bug 5132
MediaWiki
Image
Media
User see bug 5134

I thing that differentiating creates more confusion then benefits.

At the moment you can have two entries in your 'special:Watchlist/edit'. Onece
there is no distinction these entries should be "merged".

*note*
There is another inconsistency regarding the MediaWiki messages:

See wikt:is:MediaWiki_talk:Signupend

MediaWiki:signupend is *not* equivalent to MediaWiki:Signupend

*is* equivalent to

is *not* equivalent to

is *not* equivalent to

This does not seem very consistent.

Lower case usage of is used more times at
http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/phase3/languages/Messages.php?view=markup

What would happen if both wikt:yi:MediaWiki:foo and
wikt:yi:MediaWiki:Foo would exist?

See wikt:yi:MediaWiki_talk:Signupend. There would disregard the
lower case MediaWiki:foo and use the upper case MediaWiki:Foo.

Please consider deactication of "lower case" titles in some namespaces as
described at comment 1: , , , ,
.

REOPENing this bug. Please do not hezitate to change the summary in order to
reflect the "confusion" / "problems" when lower case titles are used in some
namespaces.

MediaZilla links to the refered pages:

wikt:is:MediaWiki:signupend is *not* equivalent to

wikt:is:MediaWiki:Signupend

See wikt:yi:MediaWiki_talk:Signupend. There would disregard the
lower case wikt:yi:MediaWiki:foo and use the upper case

wikt:yi:MediaWiki:Foo.

Marking as FIXED since the MediaWiki namespace no longer has first letter in lowercase as of r57558.
