Description:
Particularly in Wikidata, when a search item in a given language is not found, often there is an article in another language. When the items that are most often not found are known, people can add the missing labels and have at least the Wikidata information.

Wikidata does not rely on the existence of a Wikipedia article. When a label exists in a language it will serve Wikidata perfectly well. With new labels searching in a language improves and consequently the usability of Wikidata.

At this stage, this functionality is useful only in the Wikidata context. Once there is functionality to continue in a Wikipedia context, for instance alternative articles in other languages, it can be implemented there as well.

Gerard, could you offer some clarification on what you mean? Your bug report doesn't really make it clear to me what the issue is.

Perhaps providing a walkthrough that illustrates the problem would be helpful.

Thanks!

The issue is that when the missed searches are known, we know what people are looking for and not finding. Yes, there are the spelling errors in there as well.

When such missed searches are known, we can rank them and ask people to either add items in Wikidata or add labels at existing items in Wikidata. In Wikipedia we can suggest the writing of the articles that are missing.

Unlike other statistics that indicate popularity, these statistics are actionable and this is why it is so important to have access to the data.

GIVE US THAT DATA.. WE KNOW YOU HAVE IT.
