After clerking at WP:CHU/S for awhile, I have recently realized the addition of a script similar to User:Chicocvenancio/HelpDeskTBLinks would be very useful for clerks (at any project page where clerking takes place).

Please describe its functionality here. Also, is this a request for a script on-wiki, or some functionality inside of MediaWiki or a MediaWiki extension?

Thank you for your suggestion and welcome to our bug tracker, a tool of our technlical community.
As Andre implicitly highlighted, members of the technical community are or aren't contributors of the English Wikipedia. Most of us aren't. Some of us don't contribute to any Wikimedia project, come here for MediaWiki, or to help Wikimedia projects only on a technical point of view.
[[en:WP:CHU/S]] seems to offer a way to request more simply a username rename.
Currently, an user who wish to change nickname must ask on every wiki. But heavy contributors, especially those working before Wikidata with interwikis, or Commons administrators have account on A LOT of wikis (100+).
So one of the requested feature were a GLOBAL way to rename a SUL account.
You will be glad to know we currently have a patch to allow such global rename pending review: Allow for global renaming of users, https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/92468/
So, when you determine if you need a temporary feature at MediaWiki level per comment 1, please also indicate if this is an emergency or if this could wait the deployment in the following weeks/months of this global rename feature.

Thank you for your interest to help to automate the WP:CHU/S procedures.
User scripts and gadgets are local features and managed on wiki. Bugilla is used for MediaWiki or extensions features or configuration.
You could contact Chicocvenancio to port the script for WP:CHU/S.
