Flow: hide actions should be present in the logging table.
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

What it says in the tin; hide actions should appear in the logging table and thus be accessible through Special:Log. I'm not sure if there's a good (existing) place to store this - ideas, anyone?

Doesn't really belong in delete or suppression log, I'd say.

Could create a new log for Flow?

Possibly, but I'm not sure what else that'd usefully contain. I have bad memories of log-splitting on a product basis :/

The WMF core features team tracks this bug on Mingle card https://mingle.corp.wikimedia.org/projects/flow/cards/463, but people from the community are welcome to contribute here and in Gerrit.

Hide is intended to be functionally equivalent to (undo/revert/rollback) which are not logged in a specific place (afaik).
If I understand correctly, this is proposing a new feature, rather than implementing an existing feature - is that correct?
If so: I can imagine how it might be useful, particularly to researchers, to have Hide, as well as Undo/etc, kept in a separate log; so perhaps this ticket could be left open as a feature-request? Otherwise, perhaps it should be declined.

It's already in history, which is analogous to wikitext hiding (as @Quiddity said). However, we will discuss.

EBernhardson claimed this task.

This is not a special power, its something all users can do and is the equivalent to blanking out some wikitext in an edit. Wikitext doesn't log revert, undo, rollback, etc
