Fram reports that when you try to VEdit pages like
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_top_100_Major_League_Baseball_strikeout_pitchers
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_players_with_2,500_games_played
or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_top_300_Major_League_Baseball_home_run_hitters ,
what you get is not exactly what you saw :) (see the tables and the following sections.)

Ssastry furtherly diagnosticated: "Looks like some VE-clientside rendering issues with empty spans between multiple floating tables."
Doesn't look specific to a browser or skin.
