Please merge the melange description into comment 0 here and transform it into a clear list of steps with precise acceptance criteria. We can then copy the description to melange and I'll approve it.

I'm especially missing: a link to a good help page to imitate; list of skills required, for instance language skills.

The Melange page is not active yet. However, the description from last year can be reused for this task.

Hey! I'm a new contributor, want to work on this but both of these links are broken

Can anyone please direct me to the detailed task description

Hi all, I'm exploring Wikimedia for a GSoD project, and this task caught my attention.

Do I understand correctly that the task is to research and document the keyboard layouts of each page on the ULSInput Missing Documentation list? e.g. for Kannada Inscript (kn-inscript2), retrieving and verifying accuracy of a Kannada Inscript keyboard layout in text or keyboard visual form, and then entering it on the currently empty kn-inscript2 page?

If so, is there a source repository that other language pages draw from, or is each language's documentation individually contributed?

Hi is this task still open? can I work on this?

Hello, sure! Any contributions are welcomed :).

@JukanaCodes Hi, continuing our discussion on Zulip about how to approcah this task.

The second point under https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector/Input_methods#Enabling_and_disabling_the_input_method shows you how to enable the different language input menthods on mediawiki.org, you can use that to figure out the exact mapping of regular keyboards and the other languages.

For reference, see https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector/Input_methods/hi-inscript2

@JukanaCodes I'm not sure if I understand what you mean, could you please elaborate?

Thanks a lot @Pavithraes

Hi Team I used an image from somewhere else on Wiki as a layout image for one of the 74 ULS input method missing help documentation.
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector/Input_methods/as-avro can someone please review. Is it okay to do this if not where can I find layout images for input methods. Thanks

@Pavithraes I mean this link https://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2013/6453537462550528 cannot be found. @Arrbee added the link in an older comment above. It is supposed to be a guide for this task.

See other, existing pages under https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector/Input_methods - https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Extension:UniversalLanguageSelector/Input_methods/as-avro would really benefit from being a table and follow the scheme of other pages.

(google-melange.com was used for Google Code-in tasks. Google Code-in does not exist anymore; nobody can access that content anymore - it's lost.)

(I'm also proposing to decline this task in its current scope: "Help pages for all the input methods" sounds like an everchanging scope.)

@JukanaCodes: I am resetting the assignee of this task because there has not been progress lately (please correct me if I am wrong!). Resetting the assignee avoids the impression that somebody is already working on this task. It also allows others to potentially work towards fixing this task. Please claim this task again when you plan to work on it (via Add Action...Assign / Claim in the dropdown menu) - it would be welcome. Thanks for your understanding!
