Copy&Paste a page title fills the first item of the suggestion list into the input field, even if not wanted

Description

Try the following with https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q9006

  1. Copy "Category:Bundesautobahn 1" into your clipboard
  1. Paste it as "linked page" for Wikimedia Commons

A suggestion list is shown and the first item of the list is filled into the input field. For this example it is "Category:Bundesautobahn 12"

It happened some times for me that I hit "enter" too fast and saved the wrong page. Thats annoying...

Suggestion: Show the suggestion list but don't fill the input field with the first item of the list.

I can reproduce this. But this is actually a feature. If you start typing, the best match will be copied to your input box but the characters after the text cursor will be selected so you can continue typing. Press Enter to accept the suggestion.

If what you copy & paste does exist as an exact match there is no problem. If what you paste is a prefix only then automatically selecting the first match really is what should happen by design. I don't think this can be changed without breaking a very useful feature the same time.

This seems solved.
