Gerrit's Change page should provide a useful obvious link to project changes
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Most of the time I'm in gerrit looking at a patch for a project. The most useful link from there is to show other changes for that project. But there's no such link.

  • The Project name link third down on the left and the top menu's Projects > General both take me to https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/admin/projects/<MYPROJ> , which I rarely use.
  • The other Project submenu links (General Branches Access Dashboards) take me to other rarely-used administrative pages.

A way to get to a useful list of changes for a project is to click Project > Dashboards , then click the default "recent" dashboard; and there are many other workarounds using the search box and bookmarked URLs. But Gerrit should "just work".

Update: turns out the magnifying glass icon on the left between italic "Project" and the project name does what I want, it loads the project's default dashboard! Yay! But showing the default dashboard is _not_ a search andthe icon's tooltip is a misleading "Search for changes on this project". FWIW nobody on IRC knew about this.

Fixed in Gerrit. When on a change, the top left box shows the repo name. Before that is a looking glass which points to recent changes. I.e for MediaWiki https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/projects/mediawiki/core,dashboards/default
