Media Viewer can't play slideshows
Open, LowPublic

Description

When Media Viewer is enabled, is it unable to play diaporamas (slideshows) in sequence at this time. Currently Media Viewer requires clicking from slide-to-slide, removing the animation ability. Having this ability will enhance the usefulness of the many slideshows that are used for demonstrating many aspects of physics and mathematics related articles.

Example from the French Wikipedia: https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Th%C3%A9orie_des_graphes#mediaviewer/Fichier:Gnome-media-playback-start.svg/31

Change 107023 had a related patch set uploaded (by Gergő Tisza):
Slideshow Functionality

Somehow gerritbot didn't pick this one up.

"Needs rebase/rewrite, code has heavily changed when the MultiLightbox class was killed"
Are you planning to do this @Tgr ? If not do you want to abandon your patch as a sign that someone else can pick it up?

The patch is @Apsdehal's; I don't plan on working on it.

Jdlrobson changed the task status from Open to Stalled.Oct 9 2015, 5:52 PM
Aklapper changed the task status from Stalled to Open.Jun 8 2020, 8:36 PM
Aklapper edited projects, added Patch-Needs-Improvement; removed Patch-For-Review.

Is this superseded by T128429 ? In any case, I don't see what is stalled here, hence reopening.
