When a slow query is run (particularly one that's usually cached), it can take some time for the page to load. Instead of waiting for the entire page to load, load a placeholder page (with some kind of 'please wait' icon), and replace the content with the report when it's finished loading, via XMLHttpRequest. Needs to be done in a way that still works for non-JS users.
