Steps to reproduce:

1.Open a page with VE in Chrome Browser which has references list in it
2.Copy the references list with the reference.For example copy the following:
reference<ref>reference</ref>
<references />
3.Open another page in FireFox with VE
4.Paste the copied reference and reference list
5.Save the page

Observed Result:
The reference list got copied as bullet list rather than as <references/>

The resulting wikitext is as follows:
reference<sup>[1]</sup>
