Page redirects are not recognized by VisualEditor's link inspector
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

  1. Edit an article with VisualEditor
  2. Select a word for which a redirect exists (not an actual page)
  3. Click the "link" icon.

EXPECTED

Since a redirect exists, the link inspector shows the option in blue (since the link is functional). All the better if it is shown in italics, just like redirects are shown by MediaWiki in lists of pages.

ACTUAL

Redirects are ignored by the link inspector. They appear just as red as a missing string. This creates a lot of extra work having to search the string manually in another window.
