This is now not a feature only any more, we will have to do this as stated in http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/toolserver-l/2010-September/003429.html

According to https://wiki.toolserver.org/view/Job_scheduling

The cron-jobs were converted to cron triggered scheduled jobs started with 'cronsub' and managed by the system automatically.

This is not obligatory yet but strongly recommended.

Due to http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/toolserver-l/2011-January/003817.html all crontabs (cronie) were moved from user login server nightshade.toolserver.org to job submission servers submit.toolserver.org.

This should prevent future issues like the bot outage between Jan. 2. 2011 and Jan. 8. 2011 (look at contribs).
