Virtual image for Ubuntu Trusty (14.04)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In April Ubuntu will be releasing its next version nicknamed Trusty and having version 14.04. Having an image to boot instance with will let us:

  • try out our manifests with the next version
  • bring us package dependencies needed for HHVM
  • upgrade the continuous integration slaves which

The last two would save us from backporting a ton of packages from Trusty to Precise.

We have documentation on Wikitech to build new images:

+Alexandros +Faidon who both have an interest somehow in having 14.04 images in labs. Could be used for HHVM and puppet 3 migration testing.

Apparently Andrew Boggot (ops) did some work on this. Labs now has an image type labeled 'ubuntu-14.04-trusty (testing)'.

Seems to be a good first step. We probably don't want to base any serious work on this image though.

Andrew has announced the availability of an Ubuntu Trusty in images in labs a few days ago. That solve this bug. Thank you Andrew!
