I received a notification for a mention https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Flow/Developer_test_page&workflow=050fede1069023bf2b5f90b11c2788f0#flow-post-050feeaac6ca552912b690b11c28dcab although I've disabled them in my preferences.

Flow uses it's own category ("Flow") for everything...for mentions it should probably use the existing mention category though.
