Pages in View mode contain a convenient link to the related "Data item" (in the sidebar, under Tools). However, in the classic edit mode such links disappears. It is a convenient link for editors, and there is no reason why it should disappear.
PS: the link is kept in VisualEditor since the "page" actually doesn't change.

Don't think so... doesn't seem like the hook we currently use for this supports this :/
