Create tracking bug / EQIAD migration component under Wikimedia Labs product
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Hi Andre,

Could you please create a component "Tampa -> Eqiad migration" or something along those lines under the Wikimedia Labs product?

Thank you!

Best,
Diederik

bzimport set Reference to bz62003.

This sounds like a usecase for a tracker bug to me under "Wikimedia Labs > Infrastructure" (blocking bug 2007), similar to bug 39106.
A component would get obsolete after finishing the migration task.
Feel free to move this ticket and use it for that. :)

What I need is two simple links:

  1. A page I can visit that will show me a list of all migration bugs
  2. A simple link I can provide to volunteers which, when followed, will automatically enter a new bug that appears under 1)

If 2) can be accomplished with a tracking bug, then great! My bugzilla skills aren't good enough to know what the best implementation for this is, but I would love it if someone could set this up and provide me with those two links.

So I went ahead and created a "clean" tracking ticket for this: bug 62042.

  1. You will find all bugs in bug 62042 in the "Depends on" list, and you could CC on this bug to get notifications (assuming that on https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email you have set "The dependency tree changes" which should be the default case.
  2. https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Wikimedia%20Labs&component=Infrastructure&blocked=62042

The "blocked=62003" parameter will set this dependency.

This looks good -- thank you!
