Geolocate currencies
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

Author: wikimedia_bugzilla

Description:
Now that the Wikimedia shop is linked to in the sidebar of enwp, please can the currencies be set to a local currency using geolocation when clicking through to the shop? It looks odd to click through to the shop in the UK and then be presented with USD rather than GBP (which is an available option in the pull-down menu at the top of the page).

As an update, we don't see any reason this would be a problem and are open to this implementation, however the shop does not currently have the technical resources to implement it. We are working on finding someone from the Wikimedia tech to be our go-to for requests like this, but will consult our partners in the meantime to see if they can assist.

Thank you for this suggestion!

Closing the Wikimedia-Shop project in Wikimedia Phabricator, as Wikimedia Phabricator is not used to track Shop /Store issues.
