Make option to turn off metadata for certain images
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Author: brianna.laugher

Description:
Occasionally it is inappropriate to display metadata for images, because it is
incorrect. For example this image shows the date as "19 May 2006" which is
obviously wrong.

Quote: "If this can't be shut off in situations where it is clearly wrong, then
it is not a difference of opinion on the merit of including such obscure info.
When the content becomes factually incorrect, then it doesn't belong. Perhaps it
should be shut off until such time as it can be selectively turned off in cases
where the metadata is wrong. The only way for me to correct the data now is to
download the image, nuke the metadata packets, then re- upload the image.

That's a huge waste of time, bandwidth, and storage, to edit out 10 bytes of
incorrect information."

10 wrong bytes don't bother me enough to be so emphatic, but it would be nice if
we could turn it off on the few occasions it is flat-out wrong. Thanks.
