someone was able to create a 10,228 character topic title, far longer than our limit. Is/was there a way to transclude [[w:List of awards and nominations received by Sherlock]] and defeat the limit?
The topic history link says the topic was created by IP 216.38.130.164 on February 20, 2014, and then a few seconds later some anonymous browser tests from the same IP (which has a bunch of random edits, so I wouldn't trust that IP to ID a user) made their usual posts to the topic. But our reporting of the topic creation may be wrong:
- https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/216.38.130.164 doesn't have a "created the topic .... " entry.
- https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Flow_QA&action=board-history doesn't show the topic at all.
This could be because the topic title exceeded some limit that interferes with these systems; or somehow another edit was hidden or moderated, or maybe adding a topic without a first post didn't create the history. Those would be separate bugs.
