For any configuration change, we require a local consensus. Could you discuss the matter on the Village pump page of your wiki to confirm that this change is wanted by the community, and paste the link to the discussion here?

For more information about how to request these kinds of changes, please see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Requesting_wiki_configuration_changes and feel free to forward that link to others who may want similar changes made in the future. Thanks!

Why a require a local consensus? That is small change for project.

It's an important change: it would change the timestamp on all signatures, for instance. We would require a community discussion or vote before making such a change.

I understand you feel it's a small change, because your language is official in only one timezone.

But we have a track record of non consensual discussions or discussion leading to another consensus than first expected about what timezone to use. Last example is fr.wikivoyage.

I support Andre and This, that and the other statements: you need a consensus. Follow the local usage of you wiki, like open a section on the village pump.

Considering past issues with the filer requesting configuration changes without consensus, as well as canvassing for support (see https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61380), developers, please use discretion when deciding whether to action this request.

The decision is primarily based on anybody providing a link to a community consensus, not on developers.

No action in a month, therefore closing this as RESOLVED INVALID.

Please do feel free to reopen once (if) there is community consensus to change the time zone.
