Pending an actual discussion, added community consensus needed.
On a side note - Importer rights can be requested locally at http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/SRP - whether this will change anything with the bug report or not.
I am concerned about this, especially for a small wiki. With XML import, a lot of damage can be done, and thus stewards only give it out for certain tasks.
No response. A small wiki without a real need for XML importer rights easily assignable.
