a deleted article appears in autocompletion in the Russian Wikipedia
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In the Russian Wikipedia I write "Шмулевич" in the search box and one of the completions is "Шмулевич, Авраам". That article was deleted in 2011, so it shouldn't appear there. I guess that the index of pages to autocomplete is stale, or something along these lines.

Does the article show up in Cirrus? I imagine not. If so I'm inclined to WONTFIX this.

Does the article show up in Cirrus?

If that means https://ru.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?search&srbackend=CirrusSearch then yes, the deleted article is still proposed as a search dropdown when entering Шмулевич and choosing it provides the error
Создать страницу «Шмулевич, Авраам»

Yep - it still appears in auto-complete with &srbackend=CirrusSearch.

The prefix suggestions don't respect srbackend, can you try enabling it as a Beta Feature and try again?

Tried. Still happens.

Seems to have been fixed. Unsure when.

(That is: it could very will still be broken in lsearchd but it's very obvious it's not a problem in Cirrus anymore)
