Identify MSIE 11 somehow
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Per http://www.nczonline.net/blog/2013/07/02/internet-explorer-11-dont-call-me-ie/ MSIE 11 doesn't identify itself as MSIE 11 explictly. However it's still useful to include it in http://stats.wikimedia.org/wikimedia/squids/SquidReportClients.htm

IE 11+ can be identified by the user agent substring "Trident/", with the actual version being formatted like "rv 11.0" or "rv:11.0" (apparently different separators are possible, a space or a colon).

jquery.client in core MediaWiki has an if(…) and some tests for it.

Manual scan with zgrep on 1:1000 sampled log shows 3.9% of text/html lines in sampled squid log are for MSIE 11.0

I add regexp for the new format to SquidCountArchiveProcessLogRecord.pm

I see this is not live yet, how often are the stats pages rebuilt?

I see this is not live *yet*, how often are the stats pages rebuilt?

I see this is not live yet. Page footer still says "Generated on Thu, Sep 11, 2014 12:22". How often are the stats pages rebuilt? Should I file another bug about this, or is it expected?

Count job runs once a month. Country reports run once a quarter.
There is some manual vetting after counts have been collected updated and new reports have been generated. Expect update in coming days.
