Are there any examples of this currently? I can not confirm myself.

[Putting as normal until confirm-able and leaving status as unconfirmed.]

I spotted same error one or two weeks ago. Unfortunately I do not remember affected item.

I tested the behaviour now and the bug didn't appear.

However, in the past weeks, the defect was accidental, episodic. In most of the previous days, a refresh of the item page help to achieve normal function. On 2014-08-17 evening the behaviour was critical and the edit of the field quite impossible.

I suppose, it's intependent on what item page it is - when the behaviour shows, it afffects all item pages.

Let's leave this bug to sleep and if the behaviour will appear again, we can to revive it.

Similar behavior happens if I remove one link to some site and want to add another to the same. After refreshing page it works.

I think this was a different issue.

Screenshot of the item page with the bug

Today the bug occured again. Several refreshes of the page were unsuccesfull, refresh after another edit restored a normal function.

with new code deployed on tuesday and parser cache purged, i think this may be fixed.
