add quality article badge
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Since last week, badges can be stored on Wikidata. Currently, there are only two badges available, featured and good articles. There is consensus, see

https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat#Please.2C_add_the_badge_for_quality_articles

that we need a third badge for the time being, quality articles. Would you please enable this third badge.

In particular, we need this third badge to be able to display the quality info at Wikivoyage websites. If smth special needs to be enabled could you please also help with this. Ideally, we would have each Wikivoyage community deciding whether they want to see the quality badges at the sidebar, and how these badge signs would look like, but I do not know what is possible here and what is impossible.

Thanks
Yaroslav

We need an icon to display this badge on Wikidata. Otherwise we'd have to use the default blue one.

It would be reasonable to use the blue star for good articles and leave the gray (or white, silver, green) star for quality articles.

Either what atsirlin says, or make a "bronze" star. Ideally, we should be able to choose symbols at the project sidebar ourselves, so that it is not as much important which symbols Wikidata uses.

Just a note: I'm not talking about which icons should be used on client wikis like Wikipedia because they can just do that themselves. I mean the icons used on Wikidata in the "sitelinks" section where we don't use stars but real "badge icons".

Exactly, this is what I mean. Either a "bronze" icon, or the default blue icon, or make GA blue and QA silver. My preferred option is "bronze", but I can live with any of the three. Thanks for taking care of the bug.

If featured=gold badge and good=silver badge, then quality articles should use the bronze badge. That would be logical.

use the bronze badge. That would be logical.

I agree with this. So, a bronze icon for quality articles, if possible.
