Apple Touch icons play a much bigger role in iOS 8 (showing up in suggestions etc.), so I think this should be fixed ASAP. Shouldn't be hard?

it's only a configuration change, though we also need an appropriate image, (e.g. https://bits.wikimedia.org/apple-touch/wikipedia.png) with correct dimensions

I just uploaded a 180 x 101 file. Is that an okay size?

It should be square and I think with the same background as the Wikipedia one. Transparent looks ugly.
